When it came to oatmeal, I used to accept the glue-like powder in a coated paper pouch (nestled in a box) that, when mixed with water and stuck in a microwave for 2 minutes, can be scraped from the top of the microwave back into the bowl and called a close approximation of oatmeal. It is kind of like mixing Elmer’s Glue with bits of cardboard. Although I will admit, with enough salt, sugar, butter and milk, it can be made to be somewhat tasty.
